We offer employment opportunities on- and off-campus through Federal Work Study (FWS) and student aid programs. New York Institute of Technology鈥檚 programs run from July 1 through June 30. In addition to the opportunities listed below, we also have a robust .

Eligibility/Requirements

• You must be currently enrolled in classes.
• Students on academic notice or disciplinary probation are not eligible to work.
• Students are NOT permitted to work on-campus past the date of graduation unless you are continuing your education at the next program level at 黑料导航.
• During the school year, students may work up to 20 hours per week. In the summer and during breaks, students may work up to 35 hours per week.

Federal Work-Study Program

Positions are fully funded by the U.S. government and are awarded to eligible students as part of their financial aid package. Funds are earned by working on- or off-campus for an hourly wage.

To receive funds, you must file a  (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and indicate you would like to be considered for this program. After the FAFSA has been filed, New York Institute of Technology鈥檚 Office of Financial Aid will determine your eligibility and level of funding.

Check your  financial aid information and your FWS award package. If you do not see an award, but think you may be eligible, please contact the Office of Financial Aid.

Federal Work-Study Community Service: Students who have FWS can use these funds to work off-campus at non-profit employers that have an agreement with 黑料导航. These positions offer excellent resume-building experiences and opportunities to network. Positions are open to students of all majors. If you participate in service or volunteer with a non-profit organization and would like to earn your FWS funds there, please contact ose@nyit.edu so we can set up an agreement.

• Select Accept/Decline.
• Click the “Edit” button to accept your college Federal Work-Study award

Veterans Work-Study

Veteran Affairs Federal Work-Study (VA-FWS): The Veterans Affairs (VA) Work-Study Program is a VA education benefit that serves as an additional allowance paid to students for performing VA-related activities. Students must be attending at a 3/4 time rate of pursuit to participate. Student Veterans may be eligible to work in positions serving Veterans on campus or at approved off-campus organizations. You may be eligible for Veterans work-study if you meet all of these requirements:

• You鈥檙e enrolled at least three-quarters time in a college degree, vocational, or professional program, and
• You have found an open job either at a nearby VA facility or in a VA-related role at your school, and
• You can finish the work-study contract while you still qualify for education benefits, and
• You鈥檙e using an approved VA education benefits program to pay for your education or training

Student Aid

New York Institute of Technology funds a number of on-campus student aid positions. These hourly jobs are open to any matriculated student regardless of their financial aid package.

Graduate Assistantships

If you鈥檙e a full-time graduate student, we offer assistantships that match your skills and experience with jobs on campus. These may include:

• Assisting professors in a classroom, lab, or studio.
• Assisting with academic research.
• Supporting a department office or facility.

Graduate assistantships provide partial or total tuition remission in exchange for working a specific number of hours per week. Contact the director of the program for specific requirements and to find out what assistantships are available.

International Students

International students may apply for Student Aid and聽Graduate Assistantship聽positions. In a student aid position, you are paid on an hourly basis. Graduate assistantships are a form of tuition remission available to qualified students enrolled in聽New聽York Institute of Technology鈥檚 graduate degree programs. The amount of tuition remission is based on the number of hours worked during聽a semester.
