Mission in Action
Bringing ºÚÁϵ¼º½’s Mission to Life
We invite all students, faculty, and staff to join a campus-wide campaign celebrating how each of us brings ºÚÁϵ¼º½’s mission to life!
Our Mission
Since 1955, ºÚÁϵ¼º½ has pursued its mission to
- Provide career-oriented professional education.
- Give all qualified students access to opportunity.
- Support research and scholarship that benefit the larger world.
Submissions
Your submission may become part of a dynamic, community-created mash‑up collage of photos, videos, and stories that highlight the many ways we learn, serve, support, innovate, and succeed—together.
Submission Deadline: May 22
Submission Ideas
- A project, program, or initiative you’re proud of
- A moment of collaboration or service
- A classroom or research experience
- A creative or community-engaged activity
- A publication
Types of Submissions
We ask that all submissions include:
- Short video clips (follow the Self-Recording Guidelines below) OR
- Photos
- We can also accept external links to supporting media (e.g., an article or write-up)
When you make your submission, you will be able to provide a description; however, for the mash-up, it is best if the submission can stand alone, without it.
Self-Recording Guidelines
The following guidelines will help you capture high-quality footage for editing and production. This assumes you are comfortable using basic iPhone or Android camera settings.
- Choose a quiet location with minimal background noise.
- Use even lighting from the front. A window in front of you works well as soft, natural light. If outside, face the sun.
- Avoid strong backlighting (bright windows behind you).
- Keep your background simple and uncluttered.
- Avoid visible logos, labels, or branded items. • Do not include light fixtures directly behind your head.
- Film vertically (portrait orientation).
- Hold your phone at eye level so you’re looking straight ahead.
- Keep your head and upper torso centered in frame.
- When speaking, look directly into the camera lens.
- Keep the camera steady.
- Speak clearly and naturally.
- Avoid windy areas.
- If possible, remove headphones or avoid using speakers.
- Keep it short and focused.
- Aim for under 15 seconds.
