Before completing your online application, we recommend carefully reading all program-specific admission requirements and the Technical Standards required for successful matriculation into the medical program.

Must complete the online and submit the nonrefundable $195 application fee.

An official course-by-course evaluation of your educational credentials must be submitted from either of the following evaluation services directly to NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine:

• 
  Request that WES send the evaluation electronically to NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine.
  OR
• 
  Request that Globe email the evaluation to eppadmissions@nyit.edu.

NYITCOM only accepts evaluations from these two evaluation services, and they are subject to approval by the admissions committee. The evaluation must state that the applicant possesses a valid foreign medical degree from an accredited university equivalent to the M.D. degree in the United States.

All applicants are required to submit the  (Internet-based) exam score. The NEW SCORE (test taken since January 22, 2026) of 鈥�4.5鈥� or higher or the OLD SCORE (test taken before January 22, 2026) of 鈥�90鈥� or higher is required and accepted as long as it鈥檚 within two years at the time of application.  It is advised to prepare for the TOEFL by taking  on the ETS website. Please schedule your test date early, as the TOEFL is an important part of the application process.

• You must release听ALL听your scores to New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine, using the听school code 2486. Score reports are received electronically.
• NYITCOM will accept the traditional TOEFL iBT test, taken at a test center, the TOEFL iBT Home Edition test, or the TOEFL iBT Paper Edition.听
• NYITCOM will听not听accept the TOEFL Essentials Test.听
• NYITCOM does听not听waive the TOEFL score requirement, even if you have a U.S. degree, have taken the USMLE, have an ECFMG certificate or your education was taught in English.
• If you do not meet the required score, you must retake the TOEFL until you achieve the minimum score of 鈥�4.5鈥� on the individual test. NYITCOM does not accept 鈥淢y Best Scores鈥�.
• Achieving the minimum accepted score does not guarantee an interview.

Two letters of recommendation are required.

• First option: Please use the Reference Widget section on the application notifying your recommender to submit a letter on your behalf. Letters must be dated on official letterhead with a signature. If there is no letterhead, an official office stamp is required.
• Second option: Please have your recommenders email their letters as attachments (PDF format only) directly to eppadmissions@nyit.edu. Letters must be dated on official letterhead with a signature. If there is no letterhead, an official office stamp is required.

Please note that letters from friends, family, or colleagues will not satisfy the letter of recommendation requirements.

• All employment experiences, as well as volunteer, clinical, academic, research, and leadership experiences should be included with a brief description. 
• If there is a period of time where you were not employed or engaged in a professional activity, the dates must be included with an explanation of your activity during that time. There should be no gaps of time in the resume.
• Experiences should be listed in chronological order, beginning with the most recent.
• All education should be listed in chronological order, beginning with the most recent.

NYITCOM conducts a holistic review of all applicants, which considers other factors beyond academics, including the following:

• U.S. shadowing experiences with D.O.s and M.D.s.
• Volunteer and work experience in the healthcare field.
• Leadership experience.
• Research, clinical experience, and publications.
• Global health experience.
• Rural and underserved population experience.

• May 5, 2025: EPP application becomes available. 
• January 11, 2026: Deadline to submit the EPP application and the non-refundable $195 application fee.
• January 18, 2026: Deadline to submit the official course-by-course evaluation, official TOEFL score report, and two letters of recommendation.
• Winter 2026: Interviews and entrance examination for selected applicants. 
• Early Spring 2026: The Admissions Committee will make decisions. A nonrefundable $1,500 tuition deposit is required to reserve your seat in the 2026 entering class. 

A new application is required each year with an updated resume or curriculum vitae. If you submitted an official WES or Globe course-by-course evaluation and/or an official TOEFL score report for the 2025 application cycle, you do not need to resend it for the 2026 application cycle. If you have retaken the TOEFL and achieved a higher score, you must submit the updated official score. Please check your TOEFL results to ensure the test is less than two years old at the time of application. Recommendation letters should not be more than two years old at the time of the new application.听

The EPP admission information provided above supersedes all previously posted guidelines. Please follow the current admission requirements and submit the required application documents as requested. No exceptions or waivers will be made.听
