Milan Toma, Ph.D., assistant professor of mechanical engineering, had an article, “Cerebrospinal Fluid Interaction with Cerebral Cortex during Pediatric Abusive Head Trauma,” published in the Journal of Pediatric Neurology on April 9, 2020. Toma co-authored the article with Hallie Zwibel, D.O., assistant professor of family medicine, medical director of academic healthcare centers, and director of sports medicine, and Alfonso Dehesa-Baeza, an undergraduate student at NYIT College of Engineering and Computing Sciences.

Claude Gagna

College of Arts & Sciences Biological & Chemical Sciences

Claude E. Gagna, Ph.D., professor of biological and chemical sciences, was voted into the on April 6, 2020. He entered the Society as a Member, (distinguished teachers' category). Alpha Omega Alpha currently has active chapters in 132 LCME-accredited medical schools in the United States. New members are elected annually by society administrators and members. The majority of new members are elected in their final year of medical school, but distinguished teachers, faculty members, residents, and alumni can also be inducted into the society.

John Misak

College of Arts & Sciences | English

Kevin LaGrandeur, Ph.D., professor of English, and John Misak, D.A., assistant professor of English, held a virtual session, "Experiencing the Past through Visual Models and Virtual Reality," for the Renaissance Society of America's on April 2, 2020. Their presentation focused on the development of our Hamlet game used to teach Shakespeare's play. Topics included pedagogy, game design, and critical theory.

International & Experiential Education

Luzia Ogureck, M.A., associate director of experiential education, along with 黑料导航's Consultants for the Public Good, were selected as the Gold Award Winner for the NASPA Excellence Awards in the civic learning democratic engagement, community service, service-learning categories, and more. Ogureck and the Consultants were recognized at the 2020 NASPA Annual Conference, in Austin, TX, March 28-April 1, 2020.
