Colleen Kirk
School of ManagementColleen P. Kirk, D.P.S., associate professor of marketing, served as a panelist at a special roundtable session addressing the sharing economy at the in Seattle, Washington. In the "Sharing Good Well" session, held October 27, 2023, Kirk discussed her research on consumer psychological ownership and stewardship of shared goods, territoriality, and her latest research, published in the Journal of Consumer Research, on consumers' responses to being reviewed in the sharing economy.

College of Arts and SciencesAmanda Golden, Ph.D., associate professor of English in the Department of Humanities, co-chaired the local organizing committee for the held in Brooklyn, New York, from October 26 to 29, 2023. She and co-chairs, Patrick Deer (NYU), Matthew Hart (Columbia), and Nico Israel (Hunter College, CUNY Graduate Center), spent six years planning this major interdisciplinary, international conference that was initially to be held in 2020. The conference featured over 700 participants, including world-renowned scholars. Golden also co-organized the seminar, "Electrifying the Streets" on modernism and technology with Heather A. Love of the University of Waterloo; chaired a roundtable; and organized a publishing workshop and an excursion to the Brooklyn Museum.

The College of Engineering and Computing SciencesEhsan Kamel, Ph.D., assistant professor of energy management, accepted the AEE Northeast US Region \nEnergy Innovator of the Year Award for 2023. The award was presented at the the Conference and Expo on October 25, 2023, where came together to network, stay informed on the latest trends, and acquire tools and training needed to maintain a competitive edge. This award is presented to an individual for outstanding achievement and innovation in promoting the adoption of renewable, green, or other innovative energy technologies. Kamel鈥檚 research concentrates on creating physics-based large-scale building energy models, assessing the future impact of global warming on energy consumption, and addressing carbon dioxide emissions in the buildings sector.
