School of Architecture and Design/Digital Art and DesignRozina Vavetsi, M.SC., associate professor and chair of the Department of Digital Art and Design, presented her work on May 28, 2024, in Universitat Politechnica De Valencia, Spain. This study investigates the profound societal impact of environmental graphic design and its pivotal role in communicating ideas, raising awareness to diverse audiences, challenging conventional social norms, and driving social change on pressing contemporary issues.
Claude Gagna
College of Arts and SciencesClaude E. Gagna, Ph.D., professor of biological and chemical sciences, published a peer-reviewed journal article titled in Clinics in Dermatology. The article was published on March 27, 2024, and describes a novel assay and artificial intelligence-driven histopathologic approach identifying dermatophytes in human skin tissue sections (B-DNA dermatophyte assay) and demonstrates, for the first time, the presence of dermatophytes in tissue using immunohistochemistry to detect canonical right-handed double-stranded B-DNA. The assay resulted in superior identification, sensitivity, life cycle stages, and morphology compared to traditional stains.

The article, published on March 22, 2024, provides a detailed overview of different machine learning methodologies, their strengths, and limitations. It highlights the potential of these algorithms to revolutionize the diagnosis and treatment of CAD.
