The project was funded by an NYIT ISRC grant.

Daniel Cinotti
College of Arts & Sciences School CounselingDaniel Cinotti, Ph.D., assistant professor of school counseling, was selected to present at the American Counseling Association's (ACA) 2017 Conference & Expo. "Promoting the Role of the School Counselor in Bullying Prevention and Intervention," focused on the role school counselors play in identifying and addressing bullying within their schools. "A Tale of Two Worlds: The School Counselor and The School Counselor Educator," discussed their evolving role and impact on the "education, identity development, leadership, and advocacy skills of school counselors." Cinotti was also named to the ACA's Advisory Committee on the Roles and Opportunities for School Counselor Educators.
Paolo Gasti
School of Engineering & Computing Sciences, Computer SciencePaolo Gasti, Ph.D., assistant professor of computer science, co-authored which was published in the March 8, 2017, issue of IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing. The article evaluates "some efficient countermeasures [against timing attacks] that offer quantifiable privacy guarantees while retaining the benefits of ICN [Information-Centric Networking]."
Ping Ke
School of Management, AccountingPing Ke, Ph.D., assistant professor of accounting, received the Best Paper Award at the 2017 Annual Conference of Pan-Pacific Business Research Conference (PPBRC) in Pomona, Calif., in February. "Stock Buyback and Value Maximization," examines why companies repurchase their own stocks. The PPBRC is "a highly interactive conference that provides the opportunity for participants to share their research in an interdisciplinary setting and to disseminate research findings with others in the academic and business community."

School of Management, EconomicsBisrat Kinfemichael, Ph.D., assistant professor of economics, presented "Sectoral Convergence of Labor Productivity in the US States," at the Eastern Economic Association 43rd Annual Conference in February 2017.
John Hanc
College of Arts & Sciences, Communication ArtsJohn Hanc, M.A., associate professor of communication arts, published two articles: "," about Edward Winslow, who helped save the Plymouth colony and is responsible for our knowledge of the first Thanksgiving feast in 1621, was on the Smithsonian magazine's website; and "," a cover story for Newsday tied to Black History month tells the story of Arthur Weaver who served in the segregated Army during World War II.
