Claude E. Gagna, Ph.D., professor of biological and chemical sciences, released a website/gallery exhibition, "" on May 24, 2025. Gagna is introducing a novel eye globe biological-based art form (i.e., bio art), or what can be called 鈥淎natomical /Histological/Molecular Biological Art.鈥

Office of Institutional Research

Abhishek Singh, M.S., research associate, and Mohammed Moizuddin, M.S., director, both working in the Office of Institutional Research, presented a session titled 鈥溾 at the 2025 AIR Forum in Orlando, Fla., on May 22, 2025. Their session showcased how tools like Tableau Prep, Tableau, and Python can be applied to NSSE survey data to uncover trends in student engagement and to support institutional efforts around retention and graduation.

Lissi Athanasiou-Krikelis, Ph.D., associate professor of English, published a co-authored paper, " in the peer-reviewed journal, Children's Literature in Education, on May 21, 2025. The article explores picturebooks that combine metafiction鈥攅lements that draw attention to their own fictionality鈥攚ith materiality鈥攖he physical existence of books.

Robert Alexander

College of Arts and Sciences

Robert G. Alexander, Ph.D., assistant professor of psychology and counseling, was elected as a Fellow of the on May 16, 2025. This honor is awarded to scholars who 鈥渄emonstrate clear evidence of independent scholarship, active engagement in methodologically rigorous and theoretically interesting high-level research, and indications of an imminent national/international reputation for excellence in the psychological sciences.鈥

Wei Zeng

College of Engineering and Computing Sciences

Wei Zeng, Ph.D., assistant professor of mechanical engineering, along with students Darshana Potnis, Mengyin Xu, and Elijah Hill, placed first in the SIMULIA Americas Users Conference (SAUC) 2025 Academic Poster Competition for their research titled "Biomechanics of Lower Extremity Joints: Computational Modeling of Hip Fracture Fixation and Knee Joint Mechanics." The poster competition took place on May 7, 2025.

Office of Student Engagement and Development

On May 4, 2025, Tiffani L. Hinds, Ed.D.,, associate provost for the Office of Student Engagement and Development, was installed as a New Mother in the Westchester County Chapter of . It is a national organization founded in 1938, dedicated to developing youth into future leaders through structured programming, leadership training, community service, and cultural enrichment. With chapters nationwide, the organization engages children ages 2 to 19 and their families in initiatives promoting academic excellence, civic responsibility, philanthropy, and social awareness.
