Marta Panero, Ph.D., executive director of external affairs, had her article, published by Springer in the Journal of Environmental Studies and Sciences on June 29, 2018. The article was co-authored by Nada Anid, Ph.D., vice president of strategic communications and external affairs.

Pamela Treister

School of Health Professions Nursing

Pamela Treister, D.N.P., C.N.S., R.N., C.M.S.R.N., A.E-C., clinical assistant professor of nursing, made a video presentation titled "Uncompensated Care and the Financial Impact in the Emergency Department," at the 4th World Congress on Nursing and Healthcare (WCNH 2018), June 25-26, 2018 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Petra Dilling

School of Management

Petra F.A. Dilling, Ph.D., associate professor of management was appointed to the Membership Committee of the Chartered Professional Accountants Association of British Columbia on June 28. 2018.

Melda Yildiz

College of Arts & Sciences Masters Instructional Technology

Melda N. Yildiz, Ed.D., assistant professor and chair of the Department of Instructional Technology, co-presented a poster, at ISTE 2018, June 24, in Chicago, Ill. Her co-presenters included NYIT MSIT graduate Juliet Boone, Fitsum Boone, and Daeon Lynch.

Jordan Thompson

Legal General Counsel's Office

Jordan Thompson, associate general counsel, was installed as Treasurer of the Huntington Lawyers' Club on June 20, 2018. The club was founded in 1934 and is comprised of attorneys and judges living and/or working in the Township of Huntington, Long Island.

Dongsei Kim

School of Architecture & Design Architecture

Dongsei Kim, M.Des., assistant professor of architecture, presented his paper, 鈥淭he Politics of Space and its Shadows,鈥 at the , June 15, 2018 in Madrid, Spain. The paper will also be published in the conference proceedings.

David Nadler

School of Engineering & Computing Sciences Environmental Technology & Sustainability

David Nadler, Ph.D., assistant professor and chair of the Department of Environmental Technology and Sustainability, joined the New York Water Environment Association's (NYWEA) Environmental Science Committee on June 14, 2018. The committee promotes environmental science programs and activities at NYWEA Annual and Spring technical conferences; provides a mechanism for interaction between scientists and engineers through the coordination of specific environmental science activities, (e.g. tours, workshops, etc.); and works with regional chapters to provide programs that serve the environmental science sector.

David Nadler

School of Engineering & Computing Sciences Environmental Technology & Sustainability

David Nadler, Ph.D., chair of the Department of Environmental Technology and Sustainability, received his Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP) credential from the on June 13, 2018. Envision is a groundbreaking resource for professionals involved in planning, designing, building, and maintaining civil infrastructure. As a rating system for sustainable infrastructure, Envision is supported by a wide array of respected organizations involved in infrastructure design, construction, and operation.

Dongsei Kim

School of Architecture & Design Architecture

Dongsei Kim, M.Des., assistant professor of architecture, delivered a lecture, on June 11, 2018 at Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation (GSAPP), as part of their Urban Design Lecture series.

Milan Toma

School of Engineering & Computing Sciences Mechanical Engineering

Milan Toma, Ph.D., assistant professor of mechanical engineering, secured a donation of $15,000 from the New York Thoroughbred Horsemen's Association on June 7, 2018, for his study on concussion and helmet safety. Toma's study, "The Computational Assessment of Helmets and Concussion," will collect data on jockey head protection through simulation testing of various helmet designs. He will be conducting the study in conjunction with Hallie Zwibel, D.O., assistant professor and director of sports medicine.
